ACTiSYS Corporation
in Fremont CA., is currently shipping a handheld system tester,
the ACT-IR3000M. This is a new pocket size device that offers
a unique opportunity for OEMs to test and measure the Bit Error
Rate (BER) of their own IrDA enabled devices. The ACT-IR3000M
is aimed at three disparate areas: engineering diagnostic tests,
field repair tests and manufacturing
line tests.
The ACT-IR3000M can test the SIR/MIR/FIR function of transceiver
modules, smart phones, PDA's, notebooks, laser/portable printers
and digital cameras. This new device replaces a desktop PC, FIR
add-on board, FIR adapter and separate testing software that was
traditionally the requirement for this type of endeavor.
The ACT-IR3000M will simultaneously test the IrDA 1.1 physical
and key protocol features whilst displaying the test results via
either an audio signal or LED.
